On the flipside, if you put a true diamond lover next to a $100K purple or canary yellow diamond and then showed him a 100K Porsche, they would have no problem telling you why that diamond was so expensive. Diamonds in a way are like cars. You have different sizes, cuts, colors, and more. All of these can make the diamond more valuable and also more rare.
Think of it in X5 terms...the e53 at least because I don't consider the e70 worth talking about. You have the 3.0, 4.4, 4.6, and 4.8. A 3.0 is like the basic diamond you would buy for an engagement ring, 1-3 karats, great clarity, and accepted all around. The 4.4 would be the ring that has the 4 karat diamond and also has some added accessories on the ring, maybe some smaller cut diamonds or another platinum band. Then you get to the 4.6. It stands out with added features and a bigger engine. So this diamond is like the purple/blue diamond that's extremely hard to find, but when you see it, you know exactly what it is and how rare it actually is. The 4.8 would be similar to the one above, but bigger and even more rare. Not everyone can afford to get one of the top end cars/diamonds, but the people who can are the people who know what they're going to get from it. |
