new license
Since I am "officially" making my home of record South Carolina, I've discovered it is not so easy to prove who you are anymore - With my August 2001 move to Idaho, a written test, an eye test, my NJ license and I was out the door within 15 minutes - Jan 2007, I now needed birth certificate, proof of Social Security number, proof of residency, and my ID license (plus eye test, but no written test) - needless to say, it took acouple days to gather all that together - once I did, it was quick and painless - It also has motivated me to finally get a replacement Social Security Card (which was disintegrated and lost in my teens when none of us(most of all,me) really knew what it was for) - Makes me wonder how many of us actually still have their's?
If all states required what SC (as of Feb,2002) does, then why are so many "illegals" running around with a driver's license? Reminder - make sure you get a good night's sleep so your picture shows you awake and not looking like you're on drugs or hungover
