Kev - it's a function of what you're selling (low price item or high price) and how many bidders or watchers you have, and if you've preset the minimum bid.
If you're selling a Rolex with a $20,000 reserve with the current bid far below that amount, I'd tell them. If it's a good deal, you would be drawing them into the auction. Otherwise, they might be guessing that you have a higher reserve price and may walk away from your auction. If they are truly interested, they'll bid. If you're selling a low dollar item with a many bidders and watchers, I wouldn't disclose the bid.
