So I got rear ended today.

Well the X5 is fine, her car is pretty jacked up. Gonna take it to get an estimate at lunch today. Sucks, but it could have been worse. Bad thing is her insurance is expired b/c her husband forgot to pay last month. She says she will pay out of pocket.

Does not look too bad. Still would get it thoroughly checked though. Did it affect the exhaust at all?

it always seems to be the same...the car behind gets a fair amount of damage, and the X gets a little scratched up...

i hope your X is okay...

I had an accident like that back in October. My bumper looks the same. I haven't had it fixed. Good luck, and glad you're ok.

Thanks guys. I'm OK, it was a small bump, but it could have been worse. This is my 6th rear ending in 4 years. Damn Houston drivers....

I called my independent shop and they quoted me $650 for a reconditioned bumper+paint+install. Dealer wanted $982.With the $$ I save, I was thinking of installing the 4.6is rear bumper spoiler with the extra $$.

I had the same on my 2003 X5. If it is only the bumper, you are fine. It is modular and is a quick fix. Whew!
