Here, Here, I agree Doc.

I think the one thing many are missing is the use of the word HATE. Granted, as Wagner pointed out, he stated his opinion and then said he'd distance himself, not that he'd kill, or beat up, or anything like that. But the fact of the matter is he used the word HATE which is an incredibly powerful word... almost more powerful than love.

Do you think it's just expressing an opinion if the president says I hate Mexicans? Or if Peyton Manning said I Hate black people? Do you think opinions such as this should be publicly expressed when you are in that kind of light? It's one thing for a person off the street to say it... they are looked at as ignorant. It's another thing for a person of popularity to say it as you are in a leadership/role model/etc type role. This is more than someone just expressing an opinion and more than political correctness being ridiculous. There are times when you should just keep your mouth shut... that has nothing to do with taking away freedoms... it has to do with common sense.

And for those who would be uncomfortable in a locker room because you're being looked at sexually... get over yourself. Are you that uncomfortable in your manhood and sexuality that it would bother you that a gay man was having thoughts while looking at you? Do you think you are all that, that he would even be checking you out? Come on... what's the big deal. You're not gay, he is, so what... it's not like he's hitting on you or propositioning you. Let it be and move along.

Imagine if he had used the word "jewish", or "black".

But I suppose that 50 years ago, someone would have said that America was "widely divided" over those issues as well.

First off I am very comfortable with my manhood and sexuallity, and YES it does bother me if there is a gay man in the locker room let alone looking at me. I've been hit on by gay men and I dont like it.. I'm not gay or I dont have any homosexual urges(There's a long list of ladies who will back me on this ) So why do I get hit on? It is beyond me but I do. I dont think I'm all that but I have done fitness modeling so that must mean something. Also I'm ahppy to see Lambeau agree's with me

Why do we need to know if one is gay or not gay at all?

"First of all, I wouldn't want him on my team," the former Miami Heat star said. "And second of all, if he was on my team, I would, you know, really distance myself from him because, uh, I don't think that is right. I don't think he should be in the locker room while we are in the locker room."

Hardaway also said if he did find out that a teammate was gay, he would ask for the player to be removed from the team.

But read the rest of it before you comment.

Good, you can't have these type of people in power, I think it's really sad that someone like him would be so close minded, Yeah I understand to each it's own but you can't allow people to go and say those things and not go unnoticed, thats how hate crimes happen, in addition, what would happen if I walked up and said some anti-black/jew/muslim etc slur publically? It is NO DIFFERENT in my opinion

why? I know tons of straight guys who couldn't care less and in my opinion you can say all you want that your comftorable but I think deep down inside you may have some unresolved issues otherwise a guy hitting on you would be nothing more then flattering, sorry I don't buy it dude
