I have yet to understand why people get lambasted for stating that they oppose a certain "view". America is WIDELY divided over homosexual behavior so why is it such a shock that a basketball player has some issues? He didn't say "I'd kill the gay guy", he said he would distance himself. The NBA getting involved is just another instance of a corporation dictating what type of personal life, and personal thoughts a person can have IMO.
One of the best lines I've ever heard goes something like this, in regards to America: "..the only way you can claim America is free is when you can stand up and claim your beliefs AND sit down while another claims those that vehemently oppose you..." As for the NBA's positions, they are still trying to clean up their rep and this is just another blemish in their eyes.

With that in mind...fill in the blank from Hardaway's own quote: "You know, I hate ____________ people, I let it be known. I don't like _________ people and I don't like to be around _____________ people." Try some of these words for instance, and read it out loud and see what kind of effect it has on you: Old White Black Rich Poor Fat

But I suppose that 50 years ago, someone would have said that America was "widely divided" over those issues as well. ![]()
