I had a 325i loaner for a few days, which I returned yesterday. Overall, its pretty impressive. There is a little lag in throttle repsonse that is absent in my 01 325i. The new 325i is pretty quiet, easy to throw around, great brakes, and pretty good handling. There isn't as much understeer as I thought there would be. OVerall it is a nice car, but I'm glad to have the X5 back.

I only needed a loaner from BMW twice. Once I found a 325i (old) sitting in my driveway, and the other a $51,000 530i.
SAAB, when I need a loaner (which is too much), gives me a new STS.

You have to be joking right. Me attacking Blue in almost every thread he post? Well if you say so. It's just my opinion my friend.

Cut him some slack? You mean water down my opinion. No thanks. I didn't cuss at him, talk about his mama, or use abusive speech in expressing my thoughts about what he said.

If it makes sense to you that BMW could make a smooth and quiet V8 engine that would still bear all the BMW engine soul than that's your opinion and i respect that. However the fact is they didn't and my opinion about it still stands.

The difference between a BMW and a Lexus has nothing to do with the engine noise level.

My point is that the 325xi is smooth and quiet, a lot of people like it and its a BMW.

There is no reason to think people would not like a smooth and quiet V8.

I have not driven the the new 4.8 X5 and I wonder how that sounds?

As far as attacks I find that some people still want to give me a hard time because of my position regarding mods. I don't think all mods are good and the idea of removing a resonator to make it nosey with no improvement in performance is an example of a bad modification.

I have to say that I have no issue with Barry and I don't think he has one with me. I think that we are entitled to our opinion and this is a great group of people. I also think a respective exchange of ideas (sometimes differing) is interesting and helpful.

I also found that there is a tiny "dead" spot, power-wise, between 2000-2500 rpm in the new 325i. Did anyone else noticed that?
