Question Some Vista questions

Aha! Now I can see the page. The desktop looks nice - just like the commercial. I'd love to have rotating desktops of Selma and Haile.

My computer which is a 6 month old Pentium Dual Core, I might have to reformat my HD, because WinXp is behaving badly. As I mentioned in another post, my preferred safety net, Zonealarm Security Suite, is failing. Some 3rd party antivirus and antispyware proggies have revealed a couple of trojans. I might as well upgrade my desktop if I have to go through the hassle.

How much room do I need on my system drive? It's currently partioned at 40GB. I'll probably reinstall my Office XP and Adobe Creative Suites, so I'm thinking I'll need at least 100 GB? My 400GB master HD is pretty muched maxed, but I do have another 400GB slave that is virtually empty. I'll probably flip flop the drives.

Are you using the Vista firewall? What are you using for antivirus software?

It's interesting to note that Jim Allchin said last year that Vista is robust enough to operate without an antivirus proggie.

I'm far from a MS-basher, but I found this article interesting:

Cost Analysis of Vista Content Protection

Again Microsoft one upped themselves in the rip-off department and has introduced Microsoft Gadgets. Which of course in Mac OSX is called Widgets. Too funny. Glad to see them catching up though.
