It had to look modern, because of what it was replacing. OK, so this one was a few models back....
Aircooled V8, rear mounted, but also monocoque construction starting in 1936, centrally-mounted steering wheel, and, a central headlamp that swivelled with the steering wheel. The dorsal fin was part of the aerodynamic package designed to increase directional stability. All jokes aside, fantastic engineering.
