Then when next spring rolls around, I will just pop in the 18" wheels and summer tires.

In reality, the 17" handle just fine, and its not like the 2.5 has enough power to overwhelm the 17" tires in the corner except on tight corners when my foot is to the floor and DSC is off. However, 18s look more substantial on the X3, and I've never been a huge fan of the Style 111s that came with my X3.

Or maybe I should save up that money towards the purchase of a used E46. Hmm.......
Now you're talkin' - sounds like a good plan!

Credit the winter tires too! Glad I was the one driving, because I think I did the right thing. Your average driver might have hit the brakes and jerked the steering wheel back into another lane, and for a split second that was what I wanted to do. But that would have likely caused a spinout due to the ice. I just stood on the brakes and aimed straight, got it down from 65-40mph in 4 secs or so. It was like "holy sh*t this thing can stop with 2 wheels on ice!"

Probably the first week of April. March and April are the snowiest months in Colorado.
