Question which car for tahoe now??

So just wondering which of my family's cars you thought would be best -- least bad?! -- for Tahoe now that the X is gone.

(1) 2002 Carrera 4S; 6SPD; summer tires

(2) 2006 E350 RWD; all-season tires

(3) 2004 M3; SMG; OEM summer tires

Thoughts?

Balancing driveability and luggage space, I'm leaning more towards the E350. Agreed?

An E350 is not a good winter vehicle. It doesn't stop unless it is unladen, and it doesn't go unless it is loaded with some weight in the back.

Have you considered a Budget or Hertz rental? A Volvo XC70 rental makes a great ski car for the weekend.

Question

wouldn't it be ridiculously expensive to rent such a vehicle for a few days??

and haha sounds like the E350 can therefore EITHER stop OR go depending on whether it's loaded or not -- but a huge thank you for the heads up on that, i had no idea........

rent an SUV. If it does snow, any of those vehicles will have a hard time.

Walk or hitch a ride

with some real snows the e350 may get it done but on all seasons it could be really dicey

Are you serious?:

A porsche with barely any trunk or passenger room, and summer tires
or
An M3 convertible with, again, a small cabin & trunk.
or
A midsized Benz with a relatively big interior and trunk, and acceptable snow skills.

Hmmm...I wonder...

Rent an Expedition or Suburban

Like others have said, go rent a car. Almost every Toyota dealer rents their cars out, so get a 4Runner.

As they all said, rent an SUV & throw in chains to get past the
roadblocks, or get the Fam to buy a winter car, lol!

I'm looking at your list of cars to choose from and your comment above about cost and I'm not getting it. Especially considering what you stand to loose should you find yourself in desperate need of traction on a mountain road with one of your vehicles.
