Got an out of state speeding ticket yesterday...
Got a 15 over speeding ticket in Louisiana yesterday heading for the airport with the rental car. Since I live in Wisconsin what are my options besides paying the $203? Will the out of state ticket show up on my record? I've had only 2 previous tickets in my 30 years of driving and this is the first one from out of state. It was an empty stretch of highway in central Louisiana (Hwy 28 Near Leesville) and it went from 65 limit to 55 without any change in the road such as a town, intersection or anything. I honestly thought it was still a 65 zone. The young state trooper didn't offer to drop the speed over or anything. As soon as I handed him my Wisconsin license along with my military ID he stated "I will be issuing you a citation for speeding today". You think he was out to get me because I was from out of state or because I was driving a Mustang for my rental car? He knew I was on my way to the airport to turn in the rental. Has anyone else dealt with an out of state ticket before?
