Apple ipod mini 4GB for $90.00? Yeah right...

So I was surfing around last night for the most current HOT price for an ipod mini 4GB. We'll, believe it or not one came up on Amazon for $90.00. It is from a private seller, and it is listed as NEW. I know, I know, if it sounds too good 2B true...The cool thing is that Amazon has a purchase protection guarantee that if the item you receive is not as advertised, you can send it back for a full refund. So, needless to say, I ordered it. I did receive an order confirmation, and just for proof, I took a screen shot of the original listing page, since the listing dissapeared after I placed my order. I will post a follow up once I receive the package. In addition, as I was writing this, I found another deal on a 6GB mini that normally sells for $249.99, for $190.00. Here is the link to that one: Apple 6GB ipod mini

Here is the original listing (Crazy I know)

Actually, it is NOT too good to be true. Apple is not advertising this, BUT: Go to your local Apple store and ask them if they have any 4GB iPod Minis in the back. If they do (ours did), they will sell it to you for $149, I believe? They are no longer displaying the 4GB Mini, but, again, ask them if they have any remaining. They'll give you a deal.

With Amazon's purchasing power, I am not surprised to see them at $99. Great deal! Thanks for the heads-up!

Juan

This was actually "Amazon Marketplace", so it is being sold by a private seller. If I actually get it, and it is indeed brand new for $90.00, it will be the best find/deal ever for me. In the back of my mind, I am expecting to receive a shuttle instead of a mini. We shall see.

The old addage is right again. If it sounds too good 2B true...
The seller cancelled the order and credited my card. I just went to Amazon to post negative feedback, and many others had also done the same thing today. Oh well, next :p

Is the $149 price for the 2nd gen? Not bad if it is. Pricegrabber is showing $174 as best price.

Well, you were pretty well protected if this didn't go right, so nothing ventured / nothing gained. It was worth a shot and all you lost was a little bit of time.

Too bad Greg. The Ipod give-away or cheap cheap deal is the Internet version of those cheap stereo speakers that CJ keeps getting offered. Everywhere you turn there's a pop up of some iPod giveaway. When I gave in on buying an iPod I got my 4th gen 20GB for $245.

You should try Juan's suggestion.
