Since you are getting married, remember that you can register for some good stuff for kitchen and housewares. Stuff like the Kitchen Aid, pots and pans, etc, can be wedding gifts. You probably know this but my advice it to register well. You can also register at Home Depot.

The grill choice should be changed from Char-Broil to Weber. I tried to avoid the expense of a Weber and after two other grills, including a Char-Broil, I've got a Weber stainless grill. (I wound up getting that as a wedding gift too but I would have bought it anyway. ) Seriously, I was very disappointed by the Char-Broil. Go for a Weber!

About the safe ? I couldn't agree more. Been shopping for one lately myself that will satisfy 1 1/2 hour fire with a bugulary rating. You can bolt it down if you like but it's gonna weigh about 700LBS and if someones gonna break in more than likely they are gonna want to get in and out as quick as possible and that safe is gonna stop em in their tracks.

It may be early to consider this because of your circumstances and of course the size of your property but hands down the best thing i ever bought was a Shed. One they came and built in one day in the yard. It looks like it's part of the house painted and all with curtains ect.

Why this you ask? My wife ask the same question until everything that was in the garage went in there and we could finally park both cars in the garage. The look of contentment on her face was priceless. Now it's affectionally called the cottage because thats what it looks like. And yes they actually look like this picture (you paint it yourself though) Yes i know this may be down the road but put it on you list.

About lawnmowers? Here's a tip. HONDA! why? because they don't fool around. They literally mow and the pitch of the blade picks up everything as you mow. If you want to mulch, change the blade. Excellent machines.

Unfortunately, the one of the things my pad is missing, is a good outdoor entertaining area. So no, I can't cook 45 burgers
My backyard is long and narrow and it's all concrete. No grass, no pool. One of these days I might fix it up, but for now, it's a concrete jungle.

As far as designer socks go, lol, your not likely to find any on my feet. I like the cheap white socks with holes in em.

But you also have to understand, this is my first home. I literally did almost nothing to my house for 3 years. I myself could not stomach the costs of things like curtains, couches, etc. I kept looking for an inexpensive way to decorate a house nicely. Pre-designed and cut curtains, nothing fit. Couches and furniture at a discount (My fiancee used to work at Bloomingdales so we would get great discounts, still, everything cost a fortune.)

But at the end of the day, I have realized, you can't really cut corners on a home you own. When you rent, you can rationalize, I'll only have this for a few years, then I'll upgrade. Once you own, it's time to upgrade. Ultra suede is expensive, but it wears well if you have a dog. Having a old school big screen tv sticking out into the middle of the room looked bad, etc. etc.

Point is, unless you have an incredible eye for design and know how to find things very cheap, which most people do not, real stuff costs real bucks. I need to have my dining room chairs re-upholstered, I was quoted $2500-$3000. It's cheaper to buy new chairs..

I guess what I am saying is, we all drive luxury cars, so I would assume we all want to live in a luxury home that we can afford. But purchasing a nice house is only the first step in owning a nice home. It takes a lot to fill in the spaces as well.
