I would love nothing more than to see Detroit get its act together. I've stated here before: why can't GM do for every car what it does for the Vette: that kind of engineering, attention to detail, good ergonomics, and so on... Detroit has the talent. They just need to invest some more effort?

I realize there is a certain stigma to owning an American car these days, but let's hope the Mopar guys did it right with this Charger? One can hope...

I like the Charger SRT-8 a lot

If I was going to buy a car of that type, I'd go for the '05 GTO, just because its so modable and one hell of a car. But the Cahrger would be a close second favorite, because I don't care if it has 2 or 4 doors, I think they are damn cool.

I didn't like the idea of a 4 door Charger - I have too many fond memories of the old ones. However, I saw one at the gas station the other day - the dealer was gassing up a red R/T model and it looked pretty good. Had a nice sound too, especially when the kid driving it lit up the tires pulling out of the station too! That SRT-8 looks pretty bad@ss in the pictures on the Dodge web site - especially in black.

I'm with JV on room issue - 42" sitting height, 6'4" - not too many vehicles out there I can fit into - especially with Jackie Stewart desires in a Reggie White body - Used to drive Broncos ('79. '90, '96 last of the mohicans ) - Had a new '75 280Z - legroom galore - put over 1000 miles on it the 1st week, while working fulltime, and never leaving the state of NJ - searched everywhere for an X5 withOUT a sun/moon roof - finally found one that should be here in 2 weeks - Anyone know about possibly lowering the driver's seat?? - as sexy as the Charger looks, I still bet the headroom <38".

You'll be fine in the X5, plenty of clearance all around. I sat in a Charger R/T yesterday, found it to be pretty comfortable, but the high doors and small side windows and rear glass give it more of a coupe versus sedan feel.

Saw a brand new black R/T with temporary tags parked outside the National Archives this morning, I get a little bit cised!

I think Emission on BF is also 6'4" and drives an X5. So you should not have a problem. You can check with him on this.

There's a few Blue Oval guys at work who grilled me about it, but that was expected. It's all in good fun, man.
