outdoor electric grill

NJ law doesn't allow charcoal or gas grills within 15 feet of the buildings in a condo/townhouse development for fear of fire, so I have to get an outdoor electric grill if i want to "BBQ" this summer.

Do any of you guys have an electric? And yes, I know charcoal and gas produce better tasting food, but this is my only option.

Thanks in advance.

I can tell you this. Everyone that I know that owns a George Foreman grill swears by them. they are supposed to be amazing.
And I think they make them in pretty big sizes.

We use an electric grill all the time when we are out on the boat. They work great and is much safer in confined spaces (with a lot of fuel in close proximity) than open flame cooking.

get the biggest George Foreman grill you can find. they even make one with an optional stand so it'll look like a 'real' grill.

I used that Foreman electric indoor/outdoor grill, the big round one with the lid that looks like a charcoal grill, with great results several years ago.

It doesn't get hot enough for say, spare ribs (took a loooooong time for those), but it'll sear a steak, and grill just about anything. Pound out chicken or pork before grilling those meats on one though, it doesn't deal with thick cuts too well. I like the steaks medium rare, so never a problem.

We have several. One is some generic unit with no identifier of any kind. Another is one my parents bought off HSN. A third is a George Foreman. All work great, but the generic one is probably my favorite.
