Did Anyone Watch the Grammys?

Hard work, (make that impossible), trying to stay hip or, even
caught up with pop music...but, I DVR'd it and then watched it
this afternoon.

Pretty good stuff, mostly. Some performers were somewhat unknown
to me, so it was good to see them. A few of the acts and presenters
were obviously missing their daily meds, . And, some boringazz stuff,
but glad I watched. However, I could not imagine watching it, start to
end, on regular TV without a DVR or Tivo.

I wanna a suit and shades like Kayne West!

Of course not. All of those idiots are so far off from my core values I just try to not get annoyed from the periphery.

I didn't watch but heard that Amy Whitehouse (Winehouse) LOL picked up a few Grammys.

I know she has her problems but got to say I like her music

For a 50 year celebration, it was lack luster. I would have anticipated (and appreciated) seeing some of the Grammy's most memorable performances. I liked Kanye especially when Daft Punk came out and also his rendition of "Hey Mama." Talk about getting a "frog in the throat." Amy was good, but her stage presence was awkward. The little kid that sang "Let it be" was excellent.

Watched on our DVR on HD last night and glad we could FF some of the stuff....Funny thing, we were @ LA and passed the Staples center last evening while it was going on and boy was the traffic around there crowded....Anyhow, I just like how Vince Gill and Usher was giving Kanye West a hard time....Vince Gill was jokingly taunting him that he got his Grammy awarded to him from a member of the Beatles (Ringo Starr) and at the end of the night when Usher was about to announce the Albumn of the Year, Usher reminded Kanye that "there were no losers" among the nominees....and of course, we find out it went to Herbie Hancock!

John Mayer joining Alicia Keys' performance of "No One" was awesome!

Amy Winehouse is a train wreck. No love for her.

LOVED it when Vince Gill said, "I just got an award presented to me by a Beatle. Have you had that happen yet, Kanye?"

In my view part of what made the show worth while for me this year was the absence of so much Rap. What little there was was tolerable.

I haven't watched it in many moons but there were some nice moments last night Rhapsody in blue twin piano number for one.

Though Tina Turner had put on a bit of weight she did her thing in fine fashion. Hard to believe she's been retired for almost seven years.
Don't know if it's true but it was mentioned that Beyoncé was wore out but Tina didn't brake a sweat. Girlfriend is a 67 year old bomb shell..

Sad to see Jerry Lee Lewis not able to perform like he use to. But it was decent that he was given the chance to remind us all of his contribution.

The return of the Morris Day and the "Time" That was fun.......

It was nice to see Aretha had lost some weight but she has a long road ahead of her. I wish her well on her quest. It would be difficult to take if we lost her.

Herbie Hancock's award for best contemporary Jazz album was a highlight for me. Being a avid jazz listener i was happy to see jazz get the recognition it deserves. Can you believe this guy is 67 years old??? http://www.freep.com/apps/pbcs.dll/a...160007/0/ENT04

"It's been 43 years since the first and only time that a jazz artist got an album of the year award," he said, referring to 1964's "Getz/Gilberto," an album released by the American saxophonist Stan Getz and Brazilian guitarist Joao Gilberto.

Well; there were other highlights to make a note of with the second pass. The wife hasn't seen it so we'll check it out later.
