Motorola V710 (Verizon) question

Does anyone know if this phone is locked from accepting ringtones via the Motorola Mobile Phone Tools program and data cable? I tried to do this with a friend's V710 and the Mobile Phone Tools program connected properly, recogized the phone ESN and number, but there was no option to transfer files via the usual Multimedia Interface. My setup as is works fine with my Moto V505 (AT&T/Cingular) to download ringtones and pictures.

the phone probably can't do file transfers. the mobiletools program works fine with my razr v3 also.

worst comes to worst, try the motorola pst program (google to download). it has the ability to unlock, remove branding, and download firmware to the phone. i used it to enable video recording on my razr v3 as well as fix a few os bugs.

A good idea for sure but I think that the issue is the phone itself rather than the method of transferring data. I found a useful page with instructions. I haven't reviewed all the how-tos and I don't have the V710 to test with right now.

V710 transfer via USB cable
