Any Funny dealership service tales

i took the viper in last week to change the diff & transimission fluid over to royal purple. Well when i got home i noticed that there was something hanging just an inch from the ground under the car. Turned out they had put the underside cover plate on upside down. The underside of the viper is usually totally smooth except for a few ventilation holes.

Nice job. Good pick up before you bottomed it out.
Went to pick up my Lexus once and they brought me someone else's car.

1. My friend took her 3 convert in for service. Some how the service guys cut the cord that goes to the hood latch. So there was no way to open the hood back up.

2. Service center sent my mom's CD changer back to Germany for replacement...full of CD's. She still hasnt gotten them back..that was almost a year ago.

3. When expressing slight concern over getting a bare bones cobalt as a loner when I brought my X in, the enterprise woman told me, "well it will make you appreciate your BMW that much more when you get it back."

4. Dad brought his benz in because the brakes were failing. Saw the service guy jump in to take it around back. Then heard a crash sound. Service guy comes back up front and says, "you brought it in for the brakes didnt ya?"

Hahaha did #4 really happen like I think it did?

As for #3, my service rep usually gives me a free upgrade when I ask for it.

Yes it really happened. From what I remember at least it wasnt too bad. The benz place here is run by a crook, so this is why we go to the next town over for service. Plus then my mom can get an SL as a loaner.

Now that would be nice. Bring the X in and actually get a BMW loaner. Ill try to ask nicely next time. Hell even a pontiac G6 would be better.

hm...I just picked up my Saab from the service center.....they pretty much trashed it, meaning it was spotless clean when I droppped it off, inside an out, and when I returned the outside was filthy and the interior had dirt ground in to the floor mats all over the place. They also reset the door locking procedure (lock @ 9mph, unlock when key remove) that I went in to have programmed last year.
(this is what was fixed if ya were wondrin':
replaced hood emblem"
"replace door mounting trim"
"tow from residence"
"replaced battery"
"reinstall rear seat trim, pass front trim"
"replace battery terminal covers"
"fixed recalls:
-tie strap
-connector set
-Automatic transmission fluid"
)

On the sheet they also said on the sheet that my car was "grey" My car is clearly brown. (Although it was a rare limited run color, but still, what were they smoking )

I've been trying to get a BMW loaner but I doubt it'll ever happen. I did get a G6 as a loaner for a week once, and it wasn't bad since (thank god) it had the V6. Also had a Equinox once for a day. Of course, this is cuz I ask for an upgrade. My dad who's one of the quiet types, gets a cheap Dodge Neon with 36k miles on the clock as a rental.
