Aw man, I thought this thread was really going to be something we could use to green up our lawn...........

I'm probably the only 18 year old obssessed over a perfectly green, weed-free lawn. I also watch the Weather Channel......

Are we related or something? (I obsess over perfect 45º angled lawnmower lines and having a better lawn than my creepy neighbors)

On the lawn maintenance note, do you think that the fact that I already put down turf builder and swept the roadsand off the edge means i wasted $50 and a weekend?

Actually, though my dad cares about the grass, he doesn't read the instructions on the fertilzer (or anything else for that matter ). So in the end, I end up doing it again just to make it right.

I don't think you wasted your time; the grass is quite resiliant. Now, it IS a waste if you put it down and it gets washed away in a rainstorm, but that's what weather.com is for. I think ideally, fertlizer usually is put down a day after you've mowed the lawn IIRC.

My neighbor and I always compare our lawns........his is usually better since he's retired and has the hours to spend cutting it perfectly. But occasionally, he'll cut it too short right before a hot dry spell and as a result it turns a bit brown and yellow in spots
