I am not a watch expert, but I AM picky about my watches. I currently own a Longines, which I just love. It's elegant, classy, and in the three years I've had it, I have not had ONE problem with it.

By the way, here's a link to the Longines site. Mine is from the "La Grande Classique" collection.

Another non-expert here, but I really like my Rado ceramic Multi. Cool to the touch; scratch proof ceramic with sapphire crystal; titanium clasp; multiple time zones/chrono/etc and still becomes a classic analogue watch when the digital is turned off.

kinda but not really...
Currently: Rolex Presidential (Wedding gift from my family) that I only wore on wedding day.. Breitling Cosmonaute (gift from family too) that I also rarely wear Rolex Oyster Perpetual Datejust - still by far my favorite day to day watch... POS Tag Heuer Automatic 2000 The wifey is more of a watch snob than me... she also has a matching Oyster and also just bought a Patek that for the life of me, can't tell why it would cost that much... Me love the watches but I have a hard time bringing myself to pay so bloody much. I like some pricey stuff but I also like good quality and interesting watches that don't necessarily cost a fortune. I'm not into major bling either so anything all gold or with any stones in it is out of the question.
Rolex Oyster (SS and gold) - rarely wear it Tag Heuer 2000 automatic - everyday beater for over 13 years Tag Heuer Formula 1 - expensive Swatch Invicta Dragon Lupah - big ass clock for the wrist A few Bulovas and Citizens My favorite watch, for sentimental reasons, is an Omega Sea Master circa 1950 that belonged to a grandfather who passed away before I was born. I never wear it for fear I will damage it. Most likely next watch: Cartier Roadster chronograph.

Whew !!!
I am glad I'm not the only one here waisting money on watches !!! lol !! I have certain criteria for the watches I purchase as well. 1) Stainless Steel 2) Sport (or sport styled) 3) Chrono 4) Must go up in value, lol... I have to admit guys.. I bought another watch It came in this morning.. Now granted, This is my 4th watch this year.. But only the second watch I paid for. Two were gifts, one from my business and one from my brother. I bought this one as a graduation gift to myself. And even though the watches I have obtained have certainley not been inexpensive, they have all been good investments. 3 of them have already gone up 20% or more in value. So I guess this post is useless without pics, so I will share. The watch below I was not expecting to buy so soon. I figured I would be on a wait list for at least a year.. To my surprise, I got a call from a dealer who had one earmarked for a customer who backed out. I snatched it up quick. they are only making a thousand of these, EVER ... So here is my new baby. A Panerai 187 sub.. 47MM and yes, it is huge.. But actually looks great and fits very comfortable.. B

Nice collection... In terms of the Patek, it's like anything else. You want a watch to tell time, buy a G-Shock. If you want a piece of jewelry with intricate movements, nostalgia, craftsmanship and most importantly, RESALE... then comes watches like Vacheron, Audemars Piguet, Rolex, Panerai, etc. etc. etc.. The G-shock will tell better time, has a stopwatch and countdown, an alarm, even the barometric pressure, (lol) - With a lot of these watches, it has to do with how many are made, what type of movements they have and what their perceived value is. I am sure many people don't understand why we drive BMW SUV's at the cost we spend. A Scion will do the same job.. B
