Quite the game in Vancouver! Too bad the Flames didn't show up for their game in Detroit.

Have a great Friday the 13th everyone.

Happy Friday the 13th. I just got my front brakes done too, the interesting thing is that my brake sensor light did not come on, but I heard grinding on right front wheel where there is no sensor. So hope that my brakes are not wearing that unevenly. But everything seems to be fine so far after the job.

Have a great weekend.

Wasn't a terrible friday at all, phew. Saw my old orchestra teacher (in his new Miata hardtop ) while filling up at the Texaco gas station ($3.15/gal premium, ouch!), an average day at work and school.

Speaking of brakes, I'm still on my first set for the X3 which has almost 40k miles Wow I better wear them out before the maintenace expires....... And fln8tive, you know the BMW speedo always reads optimistic right? Still fast though, and its a good thing you've got tall gearing. 115mph in top gear is ~4750rpm in 5th IIRC for my X3, though more importantly 4th gear is 5500rpm at that speed because 5th is utterly useless for top speed accel. Heck, 4th isn't great up hills. Alas, its a 2.5 liter engine burdened with 4200lbs of SAV.......can't expect much. I wish I had a V8.

Good write-up Kevin.

Did you last through game 1 of the Canucks-Dallas series? I gave up at midnight, as I had to get up at 4:30. Opened the Vancouver Sun morning paper at 5 am and saw the headline: "no final score, still playing when we went to press"

Off to GM Place now for game 2. Private box for 16, should be a good time. Wonder if they will have any energy to play?

You lucky dog! I've got Game 2 on the tele right now. I'm sure your jaw dropped like mine did a 24 seconds in when Dallas scored.

I did watch all of Game 1. In fact, I had it recorded because I had a hockey game myself. I got home having had to avoid hearing the score. I was up very late but the result was worth it.

Well, they lost, but it was still a good time. Great energy, especially considering what they had just been through in game 1. Turko garnered the most attention from the fans. Refs wanted to shut down everything.

Man, that game just ruined my night. Alas, there are 5 more games and I'm sure the Canucks will bounce back. They seemed tired and battered, or maybe it was simply that Dallas had that extra jump. I will say that Naslund is stepping it up and if flying. He's looking very determined and even throwing some good hits.

The general consensus is that Turco will eventually choke as he usually does in the playoffs. Bring it on!
