Late night view from my house:
For those of you who haven't caught the news yet, the hills are on fire, again. This is about 1 1/2 miles from my home. This is about a 4sec. shutter. The dome looking building at the top of the hill is the newly restored Griffith Observatory..

Thanks everyone, they seem to have the fire under control.. And your right, it's not far from my house at all. We have been doing a mental checklist of everything we should grab in case we need to do a quick evacuation.
I'll keep the board posted as the fire lingers on...

We had the same issue a couple of years back. We did have to evacuate for about 4 hours. We came very close to losing everything. The firefighters around here are our hero's.

The fire seems to be contained in the canyon just over from where we live.. Fortunately there are very few homes as most of it is protected park. There was a fire here a couple weeks ago, that was also very close to my pad. It was started by two kids by accident. I think it was the last weekend in March or something.. You don't really need to start worrying about me until the news reports start showing the Hollywood sign.. I live in that canyon, right underneath it.. B

That has to be pretty unnerving. Thank goodness your home is safe. I have dealt with my share of fires while living in OC. The part that will really suck for you right now has to be all of the soot around your home that will get everywhere.
