Best hard drive recovery services
I heard Ontrack was good, but of course, pricey. However, there are some data on it that I didn't get a chance to back up. Thanks in advance.

If it's physically broken, Ontrack is the way to go. If you send them another drive to use as the target, it can save you a bit of money.

check on ebay. You can normally find the underside circuit board (replacement) and replace it yourself. Most of the times, the drive will start working again.
If the drive is totally RIP then ontrack is great.

I can't recall which company I sent a drive to a few years ago, but I was sadly disappointed. This was one in California, highly recommended in a computer mag I had just read. They called me a couple days later, and said every platter inside was shattered, and they couldn't get a single file off the drive. I lost some files that could never be replaced. I am now the KING of redundant backup.
