Gasoline at Wholesale, is Climbing...

Up 4% with more tales of woe from the refiners and another
projected spike to come this summer.

A couple of summer/fall 'Canes and we will be digging deeper.

Lets see, avg price per gallon in the US, $3.09.....Britain $7.00....Venezuela $0.19, Saudi Arabia $0.45.

But lets take a look at holiday driving, AAA predicts more cars on holiday trips then ever this year...so obviously 3+ a gallon isn't too bad on avg. joe consumer.

well actually in the UK average price is for diesel 96.9ppl and unleaded is 94.9ppl so times that by 4.546 work out to be about £4.40 pence per gallon and that's UK gallon so works out about $8.80 for a UK gallon which is less than your gallon. Don't think you have to much to moan about.

then on top of that we have the increased road tax which for a motor bought today works out at $600 per year going up to $800 next year. Then on top of that we have our car insurance depending on age and stuff can be anything from $600 up to $2000 per year. Not to mention the purchase price of the motor in the first place.

Try not living on an Island and having more refineries and not importing almost all your oil

We have plenty to moan about, our increases have been insane over here.

Here's a thought (or two).

More domestic oil production. More domestic refineries. Less B.$. "boutique" blends due to enviro-weenies.

Seems simple enough.

P.S. All of you that bitch and moan about oil company profits do realize that only 30% comes from U.S. sales, right?

I've got a brilliant idea. Why don't they make the cars with better fuel efficiency. Not 2 mpg better, or 5 mpg better, but how about 50. They can do it if they want. Just take a look at areas of technology where they actually spend big money on R&D. Intel can double the speed of their processor every 2 years, my cell phone can last about 50 times as long on its battery than it could 10 years ago (and it's now smaller than it used to be), yet the car companies cannot increase gas milleage of their cars anything significant since 1920.

Finally now you see Toyota taking the lead on this one, and their profits show it. My dad just traded in his Jaguar last month for a new Prius. He gets about 500 miles on a tank, and it costs $20 to fill it up. I hear the next generation Prius will get over 100 mpg. The solution is not to pollute the world more. Just as they can get my cell phone to last 50 times as long on a single charge as it did 10 years ago, they can get a car to go much much further on a tank of gas. They just have to put in the effort.

I don't doubt that if they spend the required money on R&D, we will see 1000 mpg in a normal size car in my lifetime. Or better yet, maybe gasoline won't even be required.

we have to export our north sea oil because it is to heavy for our refineries but anyway now that the

SNP Scottish National Party or ( Scottish Nose Pickers) were elected a couple week back as a minority party they are sure to bring our country to it's knees as they fight for total in dependence.

Well there ya go. UK and and such trying to compare their prices to the US is like Texas comparing food prices to Hawaii.
