Thumbs up 1/2 Ton Pickup Trucks

I was wondering how many X5 owners are also into Pickup trucks? I've owned three different Tundra's...a 2002 Access Cab, a 2004 Double Cab and now my '07 Crewmax. Here is a picture of my CrewMax with the '06 4.4 X5 after they got washed.

whoa, that's big.

No dis at all to you, but I believe if you need to buy a truck, buy an American one, not like the (once) wimpy Tundra. I guess it's better now. I would get an F-150 if I needed a truck.

Have you read up on the new '07 Tundra? It's not wimpy anymore. How about the '07 Tundra being the fastest 1/2 ton Pickup in the market today. It does 0 to 60mph in 6 seconds with the 5.7L V8. The 5.7L puts out 381HP and 401ft lbs of torque. It's got a 6 speed tranny (the first in it's class) with sequential mode, and it gets better gas mileage than any other 1/2 ton domestic Plus it's got a towing capacity of 10800lbs.

It's only a matter of time before Toyota takes over the light truck market as well. Why, because they make a great product.

I sat in one yesterday, it was pretty damned nice to be honest.
But the Tundra will never replace the F-series.

Never say never. You know what people said about Japanese cars in the 80s..

Plus, the Tundra is a fantastic truck. Japanese didn't get cars the first time either, but they learn quickly and then dominate.

Resistance is futile.

I drive a Toyota but hope that the Big Three will hold on to the 1/2 ton market.

why is 0-60 a consideration for a pickup?
