URGENT TIME SENSITIVE: puerto vallarta alone?

Hey Everyone!

So my buddy and I were going to do Puerto Vallarta, and stay at the same place as last year (Samba Vallarta in Nuevo Vallarta) but he and to cancel at the last minute due to work which I totally expected and understand.

That said, I'd still really love to go -- even if alone! -- from tomorrow (monday) through friday (21-25) since I just finished finals last week and start work at a corp law firm at the end of the month and want to unwind.

If you remember, I had no trouble travelling alone to prague and vienna for a week last summer, but for some reason I'm hesitating doing mexico alone.

My goals for this trip are *NOT* the nightlife, I just want to lie on the beach, read some good books, and swim. Yes I may go into the old town to visit and walk around but that's about it.

So what do you think? Safe/cool to do alone?
