1000 Lb Wild Hog?! ...
Story seems legit, even if the pic looks very hard to believe. No hog expert, but I've seen a 400 lb'er shot just up the mtn from us, by a local Mtn Man/handyman. It was fookin enormous; it was the fairly common wild boar found here in western NC, which is a derivative of the interbred feral hogs and the Russian Boar. I saw a National Geographic special about "Hogzilla."
IIRC, as stated in the article, they estimated Hogzilla's true weight at approx. 800 lbs (still huge), and determined that he was a domestic/wild boar mix.
