As I continue my obsession with planning ahead for travel, my mom and I are thinking of spending a couple nights in the Tampa and St. Petersburg area in late August. When I search for hotels, there's a huge variety of places to stay. I haven't heard great things about Tampa itself (correct me if I'm wrong), but Clearwater Beach and St. Pete seem to be great places. Any suggestions on where to stay? Points of interest are also appreciated. TIA
