When is unlimited not unlimited....?
However, powers to be, people found out early on that once you got beyond 5GB of data transfer, you would get a letter from Verizon to back off your data usage (e.g. streaming audio/video, etc.) Now Verizon has taking a further step back to capping your "unlimited" data plan to 4GB/month. http://www.boygeniusreport.com/2007/...-data-at-4-gb/

This is nothing new...it has always been like this. It's just never been an issue until this past year with the arrival of phones with processors fast enough to run VOIP software. Verizon simply does not want someone subscribing to a minimal voice plan and then using their data plan to place calls. So they are capping the data plan at a point where you would only run into a problem if you did use VOIP software. 4 GB is a huge amount of data to use on a cellular phone. Even if you do some streaming of video here and there, you will still be fine. Only many many hours of streaming or VOIP use per day would result in going over 4 GB.

hmmm. lets do some calculations, my vonage is set 96Kbit/sec which equals to 12Kbytes/sec so 4GB equals to 4194304 kilo bytes/12 Kbytes=349525 seconds=5825 minutes! I think its more than any montly allowance plan available
