Unhappy X5 locked; Key's on the front seat

Yeah but i won this one
Don't know how it happend but i think the wife in her effort to find the keys to her ride accidently hit the lock button on her X5 key. Result? I'm about to leave the house for an appointment. what do i find? The X5 is locked up tight and my keys are sitting on the passenger seat. (usually they are in the ignition: we park in the garage) How did this happen (i asked myself) Oh never mind. I went right to where i keep the spare key just in case this happens, and after a few minutes BAM we're back in business. Lesson??? All you folks who own an E53 and don't have a hidden key where you can get to it when this happens, get it done.........

Good thing it happened at home. It saved yourself some headache. I did manage to lock my keys in the cargo area of the X5 and I was away from home but luckily not that far so I got a ride home for the spare.

Now that you mention it, I don't know where my plastic key is.

Gang,

I have a recommendation for any of you with a trailer hitch.

I have one of these on my X5 and I use it ALL the time. It's great for surfers/beach goer's who can't carry keys or money. It's great for securing your spare key. It's strong as hell, no one is going to be able to open it without the code. And, if someone needs to borrow the car and you can't get them the keys easily, just give them the code.
Definately worth the price I paid for it. Has saved my ass a couple of times.
