Very good comparison actually. Wells received the same kind of criticism in his time, and constantly fought with the movie studios over the content of his very political films. He was accused over and over of being a communist, and was indeed a leftist.

"Citizen Kane", which is his best known film, was actually a spoof on "William Randolph Hearst" and was seen as very anti-capitalist.

It's a spoof on the history of the United States. Very leftist if you ask me.


But as with all leftists, they are only considered great when they are dead. So now we celebrate Orson Wells as a great film director. When he was alive, he was an evil propogandist.
