Computer buying advice
I am going to buy myself a new PC but would like some advice from you guys and girls as I know there are a few experts around here.
I want a media centre pc I was ideally wanted some thing smaller in size than a standard tower but I am struggling to find some thing with the power I want in the more compact size. I need the computer to have some kind of digital out put for sound ie coaxal or infa red (toselink) I think that is what it is called I need this so I can connect to my av amp.I also need DVI or HDMI output to goto my tv although I dont have hdmi on my curent TV but I do have DVI and composite. I also want to connect my Xbox HD DVD drive to the computer as the xbox is in the cuboard and dont leave it connected. I have been told I need a powerfull computer to run the HD DVD drive I have a LCD 26 inch TV if that makes any difference. I have a few questions that will help me decide what spec to get. I was thinking a intel e6600 2.4 ghz 1066 fsh but I have now seen Q6600 Qaud core is it worth the extra money ? What version of vista do I need 32 bit or 64 bit or does that depend on which of the above prosessor I choose? I was thinking of getting ndiva 8600 gts because I have been told has good outputs I dont play any games on the PC That is what the x box is for. I was going to get 2048 ram memory 667 some places offer 800 does this make much difference? Any advice would be gladly welcomed. Thanks in advance |
