Chicago citizens- cicada watch

Did you guys actually encounter cicada infestations? Seems like they didn't hit a lot of areas. I didn't see a single one around a radius of 10mi of where I live. Relatives in the Palos Hills/Orland Park area def had the encounter though..I could barely hear them on the phone.

The only time I saw them was when they were smackin the windscreen around O'hare.

Not complaining.

i saw a lot ( and very loud too) at Mystic waters waterpark in Des plaines...

I saw none in the Elgin area - haven't really been looking, but would think that I would notice if there was an infestation going on
