Yea but lets be honest... Most apple analysists don't know shit about apple or the tech industry in general...

+1 on the Packed with features, but crappy network.
Its like every sedan with 306 HP that's therefore "better" than the 335i but

the handling sucks :p
sorry. that was just sad.

(on the other hand, I'll still deal with AT&T as soon as the phone isn't $600. )

why not get un-locked t-phone for $200
2 SIM card capability, SD card expandability, battery that you can actually remove and replace like on any other phone

Meiac09, do a search on this site. I posted links a while back about the imitation iPhone from China available on eBay.

I think Apple might have shot themselves in the foot by having a multi year exclusive contract with Att/Cingular. They probably would have had better sales had they partnered with a couple of other providers. I would love to get one, but refuse to deal with Cingular/Att here in LA. Perhaps if they had their unlimited plan from back in the day, I'd consider it. It's too bad cuz the phone looks great.

I'm sure they did a ton of market research before committing to AT&T/Cingulars SIM card network. IMO the problem is there are too many smartphones out there for a lot less money that are focused on business/phone properties and not web browsing/YouTube/Music. Again, all IMO.

I guess I'm lucky, but here in the NYC suburbs, AT&T has the best coverage of any of the carriers.

that or they believed att/cingular's ad about having the least dropped calls. i'm just thinking that palm and blackberry didn't limit themselves just to one carrier. granted those 2 devices are more geared towards business, but i know of a lot of people (including myself) who are with verizon that would have gotten the iphone if verizon had it. it would seem to be more of a benefit to att/cingular for the exclusivity.

AT&T is not as bad as you guys make it out to be. I switched to AT&T from Verizon.
Yes, Verizon is a bit better. It's also a CDMA network vs. a GSM network.
Since the rest of the world is GSM, we're just going to have to wait until the GSM infastructure is as good as the existing CDMA service.

I would say, there was about a 15% decrease in quality in phone service when I made the switch from Verizon to AT&T, but a significant increase in the available phones and much better pricing with AT&T.
Also, I absouletely loathed dealing with the Verizon stores and customer service. They have 15 people working to sell new phones and plans, and 2 people behind the counter dealing with customer service issues.

Overall, my phone service quality may have dropped a little bit, but the overall experience of AT&T, their phones, their people, etc. is a much better one. I don't miss Verizon one bit.
