Visit to MAINE
I'm planning a 3 or 4 week visit to Maine, and as I am a fan of the writer, "Nicholas Sparks" I am only interested in staying in the area where the Novel, " Message In A Bottle" was filmed. I have an idea where it was filmed, Popham Beach and Boothbay. I'm interested in renting a cottage/cabin style home on the beach or very close to it in a quite area, any help would be great.

I actually was just in Maine a few weeks ago, near the Ellsworth area though. It was very nice, even if it rained while I was there! Good luck finding a nice place and have a great time!

Boothbay has LOTS of great little cottages and hotels, but its REALLY touristy... +1 on acadia, see where the X brochure was shot
 Just a drive up the coast and exploring downeast is gorgeous, but there are great lakes all over western maine to check out too!!! If you need specific advice when you get here, lemme know

Don't forget, a lot of Steven King's story lines take place in Maine... Bangor specifically.
