need help picking my next guitar..

Ok, I was going to post this on my guitar forums but I think the members over there tend to carry to many biases so I think if I post it here on an auto message board, I might get a better read with less bias.

I'm looking at one of 3 guitars for my next acoustic. Vote for the one you think sounds best.

1937 Martin D18 Authentic

Collings D2H

Taylor GS/MA

I don't know guitars at all, but the last one, (Taylor) sounded the richest and fullest.

MD11,
No xpert, but I've been banging on acoustic boxes since the early '60s; interesting choices.
As I would have expected the Taylor sounds the best outta the gate.
Taylor has come light years in acoutics, the past several years.

The Martin, has that cache, rep., etc. and potentially may be the best sound in a
few when it opens up. And, will appreciate the most, imo.

The Collings maybe the sleeper of the group and the "best looking" imo.

Man, tough picks...I'd take any or, all!

Your sound poll is difficult because they are so distinct, but sim., and
not sure if they are all right outta the box...

Taylor "sounds" the best, to my taste, in the audio clips.
Good Luck and outfookinstanding selections!

I'm an Ovation kind of guy. Taylor is probably my pick too.

Taylor or go home. After that, Martin or Takemine (which wasn't a choice).

thanks for the input guys.. The Taylor is doing well considering it's less than 1/2 the cost and this is what I'm liking about it.. plus I've already got a GS/RS so it would be nice to have two Taylors.. The Authentic is what talks most to me, but it's so darn expensive for a "new" D18.. I paid just a but more for my D45v!!!

I hear you on the D45V...
I stole mine for $4995 circa mid '90s and I could have
bought 3 or 4 from this tiny Martin "dlr" cum MercedesBenz
Indie shop, lol, (and wished I had bought a bunch!)

He was losing/giving up his Martin "dlrship" the next qtr as
it was a real sideline and he couldn't move enough units to
keep Martin happy.

A former employee and friend is a mgr at Mandolin Bros in Staten
Island, which is acoustic heaven but not always the cheapest
as Stan Jay the owner, is a mercenary, but worth a look on their
web site, if you haven't already...

I listened again, closely: I like all three and they are quite different,
but for outta the box that Taylor is Titz sounding, imo!
