Track Day X5 and the cooper

Braman motorcars held a track day for there customers on sunday so Itook the X5 and the super cooper out there. They ran all the mini's together and that was fun. Then I took the X out. In the group I went out with there was a ferrari F430, porsche 911 and a GT3, continental GT, M3 and me. The ferrari an the 911 those guys where fast! The guys in the continental an the M3 could not catch me and the guy in the GT3 was having a baaaaad day after kissing the wall in turn five. No one could believe the X was stock. Most of the guys thought there was alot stuff done to it. All in all I had a great day! I think I might have had more fun in X then I did in my cooper! If any of you EVER get the chance toget on the track do it its a blast!!!

Looks like you had fun. The guy in the 997 GT3 is lucky that it wasn't worse. It actually looks like just a bumper cover.

Your Mini was probably the most fun of all the cars there.

I remember going to Road America for a SCCA race in 2001, we showed up Thursday evening and the Porshce Club had just finished up a track day and were packing up. A guy had brought his then-new Turbo to the track. The car had 4000 miles on it, and he stuffed it into the barriers, bounced back onto the track, spun and stuffed the other end back into the barriers. End result was the car left the track about two feet shorter than when it arrived!!!!
Keep posting the track day stories! Its fun seeing the X5 and the other sweet rides out there!

How was the wheel/tire combo on the X5 treating you at the track?

The 22s where good but I think the stock 20s will be beter. The 20s have a softer compound on them. There was a stock mini on R compounds and 15 inch wheels on the kart track and he was beating everyone by one or two seconds.
