Performance = 10
Build quality = 6

Would I buy another...Yes, because most vacuums have a poor build quality and don't perform half as well.

We have the DC14. While pricey, the wifey luvs the dyson. If you have children, pets, and allergic to dust/pollen/hair etc. Its well worth the money.

It truly out "sucks" the typically kenmore vaccumms. We can fill the canister every two weeks without any problem.

Not yet!! I just told my dh (darling husband) the other day, "if we can spend money on this or that we can get a dyson."

He looked at me when I told him the price of one.

I may have to now order it at Amazon-thanks Barry!

We have a Dyson upright. Great machines. We would buy another in a moment. This is our second, the first was in the UK and it was too much trouble to use a 220-110 transformer, so we sold it there and planned to buy another here in Canada. Only problem was they hadn't introduced them in Canada yet. We picked it up in Oregon and brought it home on a road trip in the Z4. There, a BMW connection to the story!

You might want to check Consumer Reports online. I don't know if they have reviewed the model you're looking at but, IIRC, the Dyson they did review didn't perform particularly better than the other models.

For $20 or whatever they charge for their online access, it is money well spent, IMO:

Of course, they probably wouldn't recommend you get an X5 either... but I'd trust them for for home appliances

I have the Dyson 'Animal'. After a year with it, I can honestly say I'd buy another in a heart beat. Hands down the best vacuum we've ever owned. It will make you sick to see how much more junk comes out of your carpet than with other name brand vac's.

So are we. Haven't used it since we got the latest Dyson.

Although it works as designed, and has a powerhead, it just doesn't clean as well.
