p.s. - my three week review.. The 7 series is an extrordinary car. It's a lot different than an X which has more of a sporty feel. The 7 series is PLUSH, smooth, elegant in the way it delivers power..

I don't see a large four door sedan that looks better or drive better..

Yes, I do miss the tight, stiff, massive power delivery of my x5 4.8is.. But the 7 series is a different animal. If it sucked, I would tell you all. It happens to be a spectacular vehicle for what it is. But what it's not, is a sports car. It's a full sized luxury sedan.

I would. GM and Ford have made progress in recent years, and I commend their efforts. Cars like the Pontiac G6 and the Saturn Vue are actually ones I recommend to people because they're good, solid showings based on the Open Vectra and Antarra, respectively. I drove a G6 on twisties, and it was much more entertaining than a Hyundai Sonata or Toyota Camry. It also looks good, inside and out. And it's priced pretty well, and the interior isn't as disappointing as the Ford Fusion.

that's great, but it has nothing to do with whether BMW or GM makes more reliable cars....

carry on.

The idrive, now that I've had the car for a few weeks, it really doesn't bother me. No, I don't love it. But nor do I hate it as much as I thought I might. To be honest, I don't really use it that much. Both radio and climate controls exist elsewhere on the car. But the idrive is certainly not enough of a downside to label it one of the 50 worst vehicles of all time.

Don't believe me? Lets go for a ride, then tell me it belongs in the same category as a Delorean..
FWIW. The 2002 version of Idrive is VASTLY different than the 2007 version.

The 7 that was mentioned in the list is the 2002. The first year of the new release. And it was a mess.

people who complain about the Idrive are those who do not RTFM... It's pretty damn good once you learn the voice commands.

BTW... Ford GT, Z06, Saleen S7 with a Ford based block are all incredible cars not to mention some of the most notable carmakers such as Noble and the Ariel Atom are using US made motors.

And how many cars do GM/FORD/CHRYSLER build compared to BMW in the last 100 years? Law of averages state they should have significantly more issues...they have more products.
