So we're talkin about another "erase" the entire phone and re-install (sync) your phone afterwards type of update?

Did it yourself i presume with a spare card? (Verizon did mine at one of their maintainance stores) If the process is simple let me know.

I did it using a spare SD card. I have a bunch of them because both my Canon point & shoot digital and Treo using SD card. I had an old 1GB lying around and used it for installing the updated firmware which took only 10 minutes last night. So far, so good.

I did back up my data on Backup Buddy VFS on my Treo's 2GB SD card. Hard reset the Treo 700p (which basically wiped out everything). Installed the new firmware _1.10 which basically only took 10 minutes because it was just updating the network connection routines and then took out the 1GB SD card and put back my Treo-only 2GB SD card and restored my data using Backup Buddy VFS that was stored on the 2GB SD Card!

I guess the hard reset got rid of bunch excess data because now the Treo 700p is running snappier as well. No problem connecting to the Internet network!

I guess since they fixed it, then the VZW Treo 755p should be coming out soon since it uses similar firmware....

Without using a spare card?? I don't have a spare card or card reader so i was trying to skip the expense of both. If there's an easier way i would appreciate the advice.

yeah...just downloaded the revised file...unzipped it, attached the treo as if i was going to hot sync it, ran the program and it fixed the problem in about 8 and a half minutes. it's been working great ever since. just make sure not to move your treo or usb cord while updating if you have a touchy connection like i have.
