From the Islamic Republic news agency

Despite entire US media objections, negative propagation and hue and cry in recent days over IRI President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's scheduled address at Colombia University, he gave his lecture and answered students questions here on Monday afternoon. On second day of his entry in New York, and amid standing ovation of the audience that had attended the hall where the Iranian President was to give his lecture as of early hours of the day, Ahmadinejad said that Iran is not going to attack any country in the world. Before President Ahamadinejad's address, Colombia University Chancellor in a brief address told the audience that they would have the chance to hear Iran's stands as the Iranian President would put them forth. He said that the Iranians are a peace loving nation, they hate war, and all types of aggression. Referring to the technological achievements of the Iranian nation in the course of recent years, the president considered them as a sign for the Iranians' resolute will for achieving sustainable development and rapid advancement. The audience on repeated occasion applauded Ahmadinejad when he touched on international crises. At the end of his address President Ahmadinejad answered the students' questions on such issues as Israel, Palestine, Iran's nuclear program, the status of women in Iran and a number of other matters.

To quote him in regards to the Holocaust (which the media is quoting him as saying 'didn't happen or needs investigation'):

I am not saying that it didn't happen at all. This is not that judgment that I am passing here. I said, in my second question, granted this happened, what does it have to do with the Palestinian people?
This is a serious question. There are two dimensions. In the first question...

Problem with his answer on Monday is that it differs from his other answers given on this subject in the recent past. This fact would tend to bring into question his motives, character and sincerity.

What is your point?

My point is all leaders change their rhetoric, just go through the last few years of Bush. He is questioning the Holocaust's plight on the Palestinians.

I fail to see the relationship between the Holocaust and the plight of the Palestinians. Unless the Israelis are operating death camps where they are systematically exterminating Palestinians.

Seems like you have bought into Aquavelvajihad's misdirection tactics.

There is a relationship. The reason Britain and France supported Israel and helped them create their own state after WWII was because of the Holocaust. They gave away land that wasn't theirs to give. It would be like as if the US now decided to give a group of people part of Iraq to make into their own country even though Iraqis now live there. Over 500,000 Palestineans were removed from their homes by force in 1947, and were never allowed to return. Not much different than the Jews in Europe who were removed from their homes by force. That is the relationship that he is referring to.

Big Deal...How far back do you want to go in world history to rewrite the boundary lines of people who were misplaced?

Aquavelvajihad who has questioned the existence of the Holocaust even so far as to hold a summit of Holocaust deniers is trying to make excuses for the persecution of Palestinians by equating it to the suffering of a Holocaust that he doesn't believe actually happened.

So...How far back in history do we go to make things right for everyone?

Are you asking for my opinion, or Ahmadinejad's opinion?

If you are asking my opinion, I don't think we go back at all. I think we make things right now and for the future by allowing all people in the world the right to self determination. That includes the people living in Gaza and the West Bank. That includes the Kurds living in Northern Iraq. And that includes people in places like Burma, Sudan, and Nepal.
