I don't mind the fact the X3 is made in Austria. At least you can do ED on it. Plus, the 325i that my parents have is made in South Africa. How do you think I feel about that?

Yea..........but I dunno its not made on the European continent. I know BMW has plants in SA and Asia, but it feels awkward knowing that of ALL the 3-series that the US market gets, you get the 10%-ish that doesn't come from Europe.

It's like buying a VW made in Mexico. (not the Tourareg, but stuff like the Jetta)

The Jetta or "Bora" has always been made, well for a long time in Mexico, along side one of the world's best selling cars the Golf/Rabbit, I think that having it built it in Europe has a prestige with it, They Almost talk about the Passat/Tourareg being built in Europe as if it's because of their price, the 3 is so popular that, like the VW Golf/Rabbit and Toyota Corolla it must be built in many factories world wide to keep up with demand

No offense to any of you VW owners, but 9 out of 10 VWs I see have the check engine light illuminated in between the speedometer (yes! It's that obvious!). WTF is up with that?
