What do you drive as a cop with Dubai police?
![]() UAE. AGMC, the exclusive importer of BMW, BMW Alpina, MINI and Rolls Royce in Dubai, Sharjah and the Northern Emirates, with the support of BMW Group Middle East, recently delivered the first batch of a total of 101 BMW 5 Series Saloon vehicles to the Dubai Police to be used for law enforcement purposes. The recent deal reaffirms AGMC’s and BMW’s support for the Dubai government and Dubai Police, having provided an additional 52 BMW vehicles in 2006 to the Dubai Protocol and Guest House Department. “AGMC has had a long and fruitful association with the Dubai Police, culminating in the delivery of 101 BMW 5 Series vehicles 2008 model year, to be used as police patrol vehicles,” said Stathis I Stathis, General Manager of AGMC. “Over the past decade, AGMC and BMW have provided the Dubai government with a selection of vehicles for different purposes, and we hope the relationship will continue to grow. “BMW Police Vehicles are an excellent choice for any law enforcement agency, and Dubai Police’s choice to use the BMW 530i speaks highly of their commitment to the best industry standards.” This drive for quality is reflected in AGMC’s partnership with the Dubai government’s and Dubai Police’s public awareness campaigns which is underway with the support of the ‘Zayed International Prize for the Environment’. This campaign aims to recognise and promote major pioneering contributions in the fields of environment and sustainable development, in accordance with the development philosophy and vision of the late President of the UAE, HH Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, “This handover marks the largest single deal for any premium vehicle manufacturer with the Dubai Police. BMW is the worldwide leader in the premium car segment, as well as in the fields of innovation, safety and quality. I see this order as an endorsement of our position in these areas.” commented Phil Horton, Managing Director, BMW Group Middle East. The partnership with Dubai Police is a long-term relationship that started several decades ago. It is also not limited to cars but also to services, such as BMW Assist which is included in each vehicle, permitting emergency calls to be dealt with in a timely and efficient manner, allowing for reduced response times. BMW Assist is among the latest technological advancements from BMW and is the next-generation of telematic services enabling the police department with easy vehicle tracking and locating. This emergency call function offers automatic vehicle location in the event of an accident since the signal or call is directly linked to the Dubai Police headquarters. |

I was in Dubai two weeks ago, Stayed at the Jumeirah beach hotel, which is absolutely amazing btw, Dubai is like a citywide car show, I saw a Gallardo and a Phantom at a Starbucks!! All types of Ferraris and Porsches, even 2 Carrera GT's buzzing around the streets!!! The car that stood out the most was a Bugatti, black with red just driving around, I could not belive my eyes. I've been to Vegas, Hollywood ,NYC, none of those town have 1/3 of the cars I saw in Dubai, seems money is endless
