I Appreciate you're effort. But your comments were of a general nature and didn't specifically address the comments noted in red which in my opinion was the essense of the whole issue about her and the reason why i posted it.

I believe we all have a working knowledge of what the role of parents is. However that was not the scope of this thread.

My effort then was to draw you out with a comment regarding the specific issue.

1) Yes she is a rich person that think she can buy want she wants

2) She does not seem to want or need a father, just some sperm

3) Martha is getting old and probably does want a grandchild

To answer the question in your subject heading, a baby doesn't need a father if the mother can care for the baby on her own or has her family to help her. Having parents that divorced when I was really young, I would like to think that I turned out OK. I had enough authority figures in my life that I didn't need my father around. As for Alexis Stewart, maybe she feels ready to have a baby now because she's at a point in her life where she can raise a child with the attention it would need. Don't know why she's not trying with a man...maybe it would take too much time and effort to work on a relationship and her biological clock is ticking away, or maybe she's a lesbian, who knows. in any case, she has the financial means to raise a child, it's a matter of whether she's emotionally ready to devote her time.

Wait a minute now...My wife and I waited and had our first at 41. We've been together since we were 15 and married about 13 years ago. First thing was finish school...Then buy property and finally get married (yeah we put one ahead of the other). Next we worked on our careers.

Thinking back I could not imagine having a kid in my 20's or even early 30's. We've always been fairly responsible but heck...we're talking the 80's and 90's. This way we spoiled ourselves before having a kid... Traveled and did some investing before making the big decision to bring a life into the world.

Now we are all grown up and confortable...Good time to have a child in my eyes.
