Am I Spoiled?
Here's the deal, My mom is getting a 08 Acura MDX, which means that she is giving me her old car, her 2001 x5 (3.0) with 56k miles on it . Now I was originally planning to buy myself a used 1996 Mazda 626 with about 120k miles on it as my first car, and i have been saving up for the whole cost of it for many many months now (insurance, price, and gas). Some info about me: I'm 16 years old and this will be my first car ever. I've never been called spoiled by anyone before in my life, mostly because I've worked for just about anything I've ever needed. I've had a job since literally 6 days after I turned 14 (the legal age to work here in NJ). I have taken the time to learn everything about the car my mom is giving me. I don't really take anything for granted, unlike many of the other kids in my town. So tell me your opinion, do you think I'm spoiled? In my opinion I'm not, because i work so hard for everything i need/want, and this is like a very very very big bonus to me .

just take the key and drive that beast until it breaks into pieces, you spoiled kid. yes you are spoiled even though you have never been called once. no kids should be given a bmw as their first car, especially the x unless they are spoiled. but you can ask your mom to turn that x into cash and buy some beatup car so you can bang it around the streets without even have to worry about insurance. take the money left, and put it in saving account for you so you will have some money to spend in college when you turned 18. go buy a $2k honda civic and wreck it the next day.
anyway, i think everyone like free stuff, so why not?

A BMW at 16 is a bit much however it is used and I would want my kid driving a safe car. The fact that you ask means that you care and that's a big step forward. Does the X5 have a extend maintenance plan?

It's all about safety, when people call you spoiled they are just jealous, congrats on becoming a BMW driver and welcome to xoutpost.com (if you haven't been already)

I had my first BMW at 16, and I'm now 19 and on my 3rd. Being spoiled isn't about what you get, it's about how much you appreciate what you get. Enjoy!

I'd say you are fortunate. I don't know enough about you from your post to determine if you are truly spoiled.
Be thankful and make sure you reward your parents with good behavior and responsible driving. |

Are you kidding, you're lucky not spoiled. Now if you go around acting like you bought it or trying to front like it was your dollars pushing it...then yes you'd be a tool. But I doubt you're going to do that, well...at least you wouldn't tell this board about it.
