Smile Brilliant weekend

I drove down to UNC-CH on Saturday afternoon on a unoccupied, prestine one-lane highway (US Route 15) that cut straight down from Charlottesville. It only took 3 hours and I swear, the 325i sport was meant for these roads. And it was completely stress-free, because I knew no VA state police would ever drive to the middle of nowhere......when it became 2 lanes for a short while, merging with US-460, the conditions permitted my speedo needle to stay closer to the century mark for miles on end

Met up with friends from Duke and UNC on Sunday, bought a UNC flag to hang on my dorm wall, drove back on I-85/I-64 last night, and found out my Psyc exam is actually Thursday, not Tuesday. Averaged 81mph and still got 30 miles to the gallon! (Unfortunately, this average speed was lower than the last time I took the X3 due to heavier than usual traffic.) No matter, I was tired but in a great mood.

But mainly it was just being able to see Franklin Street all over again. Wow, that was the best weekend I've had in months! And I haven't been this bubbly/happy since spring

Yo M,
Reads like a good ride and...
sounds like you ought to pull out the school transfer papers.

Tell M&D, you wanna go to UNC-CH, imo.

See, I had seriously contemplated transferring not too long ago. But I'd been taking some steps to try and improve my experience here. I'd gone to counseling service (the non psychciatric kind ) and they gave me a couple upperclassmen to act as friends/advisors.......ones that went thru the same thing I did.

Turns out, freshman year isn't all "fun and games" like it seems to be. She called it a "shiny veneer", and that once you grow out of it, you realize it really isn't all amazing as you progress thru the later years of college. She suggested what I already kinda knew: just make upperclassmen friends. I've always worked better with older people, and now is no exception. Plus, I met someone else from the DC area who's into cars in the same way I am. So yea, I've kinda stopped spinning my wheels and sorta grabbed on a little bit.

That's not to say I won't be sneaking down to Chapel Hill and Durham from time to time.

my suggestion, stay in VA, MD, D.C region schools. you will be better off here than in N.C. dont follow what freshmen normally do, that is transfer to school far away from home even they know those schools are not better than the one close to home. Vtech, UVA, UMCP are your choice. here is another suggestion, make dean list every semester for the first 4 semeseters while still driving a bmw in your freshmen and sophomore years, i rode subway and bus back then in boston and bike in california back in college days. if you have to transfer, just move to UCSD or UCLA, thats completely different atmostphere and you have a chance to explore the west coast. have a good time with school and graduate, i know i had. justs my 2cents.
