Who else really doesn''t Airport Security?

just curious, I was just lambasted and sent through the puffer machine for not having a "Student ID" after telling the idiot screener I was underage. It has been standard practice for ever that underage people don't have to show ID, and I have NEVER been asked for something else, just confirm my name. And I'm not even in Portland, home of the World's WORST security screeners.

It takes 15 minutes to get through security at a huge place like Denver, but at a small regional airport, it takes an hour between having to re-run my laptop and ask pointless questions

Get an ID. My teenaged son has a passport. It makes life easier, even on domestic flights.

The way you posted it sounded like your ID was the determining factor in your treatment.... Hence the suggestion get a better ID.

For me, I wonder what going through security at the airport would be like if Richard Reid (the "shoe bomber") had hidden a bomb in his underwear instead of his shoes.

Yes, but they ask you take take off your shoes, all because some nutcase once had a bomb hidden in his shoes. Hence the question above...

Let's just say that anyone under the age of 18 didn't need to have an ID to travel on the airlines. Don't you think some potential terrorist group might figure that out and send some 16 year old to,,, you get the point..

Don't DMV's grant non drivers license ID's to anyone ??

Airport security is complete BS. Ask a pilot, they aren't concerned about passengers....

Not to mention Airport security has the highest turn-over rate of ANY "organization" run by the government. And lets see, how do we handle holiday traffic, we bring on part-time staff...that's great. This isn't a mall kiosk.

IMO, we should handle Airport security like Israel does.
