Question iTunes Help

My desktop currently holds all 5,000+ songs on iTunes. I still haven't bought a power supply for my desktop, so it's out of commission. Here's my question... If I download songs to iTunes on my laptop and want them on my iPod, will that overwrite all of the songs currently on my iPod...or will it add them to the rest?

iPods can only be associated with one computer at a time. If you plug in your iPod to your laptop, it will ask you if you want to overwrite the ipod with the music from the laptop or transfer the songs from the ipod to your laptop (provided of course that the same itunes account is already setup on the laptop as the one that created it on the now dead computer).

My advice:

Select transfer, then associate the ipod with the laptop and you're good to go.

One caution: the transfer option only works with songs purchased on itunes. if you ripped from CD, you will have to re-rip to get those songs on the ipod again.

Hope this helps

Get your power supply, open itunes on desktop>file, back up to disk>backup entire library>insert disk into laptop>authorize laptop

Limewire?

They would be treated the same as those loaded from CDs.
