A lot of secondary roads in central and southern VA are terrific. US Rt.15 south of Palmyra through the NC border is terrific. There's a little bit of everything. First 80 miles or so have lots of high speed sweepers. You're never slow for long because there's many places to pass on the left side. When it merges for about 15 miles with US Rt. 360, it's fairly straight, 2 lanes in each direction, and lots of visibility. Good for a high speed run (I set cruise control at a conservative 90-100mph last time).

As for Maryland, there's some good roads but the pavement tends to be poorer. In Potomac, Glen Rd. is a good drive and has some daunting blind corners where a sane person takes them at 20mph. You can take them at 60 in a BMW and fight with physics, but traffic often prevents you from doing so (there is no room for error.....you're between an enbankment and a guardrail over a stream). Out in western MoCo near Poolesville, there's lots of straights but the pavement is the limiting factor in speed and cornering. I'm not as familiar with north central MD, but I'm sure there's something there.

If y'all want a shot at off-roading, Green Ridge State Forest in Western MD has a couple ATV/off-road trails that are open to registered vehicles. I took the X3 there once over the summer; it's challenging enough to be fun on a BMW SAV, but I wouldn't do it if it was mud/wet. I used HDC about 15 times during my 7 mile drive!

By fun, I assume you mean curvy, scenic, low & high speed
sweepers, etc.

I know/have driven hundreds of great 2 lane blacktops in the east:
Western NC, SW VA, eastern NY, parts of New England...give me
a clue and I'll list some roads.

Also pretty good on CO, UT, AZ via a half dozen+ M'cycle rides
through those fine states. But, you hafta zero it in a tad.

I have New England Covered:
Vermont, Route 100. Drive around the mountains, lots of twisties, but cops are numerous around Stratton and Okemo
VT-NH-ME Route 2. Absolute Sex with ZSP since they put in the truck lanes. I did it in my mom's Touareg v6 and averaged over ... well, a lot. Its a GREAT trip with great scenery.
NH- Kangamangus HWY. Not too fast, just scenic and full of tourists. Closed in winter, rivals passes out west.
ME Route 16/27. Really can't go wrong, driving through the mountains of Western Maine, pass Sugarloaf. One or two staties on duty in the entire county at any given time and AFAIK, they only use X. Easy to spot, and 55 all the time. REALLY TWISTY.

This is my weekend pilgrimage, its a hoot.
This one was a happy accident, too, same origin and destination, but its a similar and maybe twistier route.

I would prefer MD/VA area or Fl/Ga

travelling to Toronto from NYC this weekend, any particular roads I should take for fun factor with nice scenery?

Whats the one that cuts through VA, is it 81? That one is nice going around the mountains.

There are also some great ones near Ceasar's Head and Blueridge Mt's in SC.

I can't really remember any Interstate being scenic. Plus, you have to jostle with tractor trailers on I-81, and it isn't always VA State Trooper-free.
